When working with a player in Flash, or copying and pasting your player from one project to another, or converting a project from AS3 to AS2 you might get an error similar to: “class or interface could not be loaded” in Flash compiler errors. This is how to fix it:

  1. Locate the folder in Flash library containing your player.
  2. Find the component giving the error. The name of the component giving the error, is showing in the compiler error message.
  3. Right click on the component > properties.
  4. If the component fields “identifier” and “class” have values, delete everything in field class. The component only need the identifier.
  5. Save.
  6. Render the movie again to see if the compiler error is gone. If you have multiple errors, follow the same procedure to get rid of all the “class or interface could not be loaded” in your Flash project.
