If you want to add a subscribe functionality to your WordPress website, let users subscribe automatically by submitting their email, and then send an email notification each time you post a new article, this is how to do it:

Add subscribe and send email on new posts or articles in WordPress

Add subscribe and send email on new posts or articles in WordPress

Start by downloading and installing the WordPress plugin “Subscribe2”.

  1. Log in to your WordPress blog and go to Plugins >Add new.
  2. Search for Subscribe2, click “Install Now” and then activate the plugin.
  3. Go to “Subscribe2 > Settings” menu and configure the options as you like, including the email template.
  4. Go to “Subscribe2 > Subscribers” menu to see your subscribers or add subscribers manually.

Use a separate WordPress page to display the subscription form

  1. Create a separate wordpress page to display the subscription form. When creating the page, use the “S2” button on the QuickBar to automatically insert the Subscribe2 form, or use the Subscribe2 shortcode: [subscribe2]
  2. In WordPress admin, go to the Subscribe2 > Settings area to select a page name in the “Appearance” section. Select the WordPress page you just created.
  3. Add a link or button anywhere on your website pointing to the “subscribe page”.

Add the subscribe button and subscription form directly, anywhere on your website

Instead of having the form on a separate page, you can add the subscription form on your website, in a widget, in the footer, in the side menu or somewhere in the content.

Use “Subscribe2” shortcode in any templates or theme files in WordPress, something like this:
<?php  echo do_shortcode('[subscribe2]');  ?>

If you want to display the subscribe button and form in a widget area, Just paste in the subscribe2 shortcode as it is, something like this:
[subscribe2]

Translate the subscribe button and subscription form to any language.

  1. Go to Subscribe2 > settings and click the “miscellaneous” tab in WordPress admin.
  2. Click the link to the “translation files” and download the .mo file for your langauge. Just drop the file directly into the Subscribe2 plugins folder.

  3. If you are having problems with the translation, re-install the Subscribe2 plugin, and drop the translation file into the plugin folder before activating the plugin.
